“I love writing just as much as I love painting. For years, I kept putting my writing aside, always telling myself I’d get around to it someday. Eventually, I did. I finished a book.
I wanted to publish it, and as a new writer I had two paths in front of me: find a publisher, or self-publish. I knew I wanted to share my stories, but I also wanted to find a way for readers to get to know my writing along the way. I wanted them to discover the story slowly, one chapter at a time, and become part of its world before the complete book is published.
I had another story I’d written, A Letter to You, and that’s where the idea began.
I thought, why not share one chapter at a time?
The original plan was simply to send a chapter through the post. But then I started thinking about how much more fun it would be to make the chapter feel like an experience.
I drew a sketch inspired by it. Then I added a postcard. A calendar that could become a keepsake journal. Stickers that belonged to the chapter. A puzzle for a slow evening. A fortune card. And then came more ideas.
Before I knew it, I wasn’t just sending someone a chapter anymore. I was creating a whole little world around it, carefully choosing and making things that would make the story feel more tangible.
And that’s how Hiraeth Post came to life.
Now, every month, the story continues with a new chapter from A Letter to You, accompanied by a collection of things inspired by that month’s chapter and theme. Some things stay familiar, while others change completely from month to month.
Everything is put together, packed by hand and sent with a lot of love.
